We are taking a little break from the Journaler’s Junction. But we’ve been talking and coming up with a few ideas that are going to make the challenge serve you and us better. So please don’t forget us. We’ll be gone a bit longer.

Come on, admit it….sometimes you wish you could rewrite history. Things don’t always go the way we planned, right? And sometimes a photo only tells part of the story.

So your challenge this week is to make up the other half. Maybe something went not quite the way you wanted it to. Use your journaling to share what would have happened in the perfect world, where everyone is on time, the weather is perfect and kids don’t get grass stains on their good clothes.

You know, if you ask me, cliches get a bad rap. Sure, they’re overused but sometimes truer words were never spoken. My grandma was always a big fan of saying “You can catch more flies with honey than vinegar.” Now, I’ ve never actually wanted to catch flies, but once I figured out what she really meant was a little bit of kindness can go a long way, I decided my grandma was pretty darn smart!

Our first challenge of the year might remind you of school. We are going to play around with verb tenses and pronouns. Look at the illustration below. Your birth month (January = 1, February = 2, etc) is the green number.

Don’t fret! If yours is too hard or not inspiring, just choose another one. I won’t tattle to your English teacher!

Sorry I’m so late, ladies! I kept thinking that I would have time to do my page and it’s just not happening. oy. But here’s the good news… We will have until January 6th to do this challenge! (Of course you know there *really* is no deadline, but I know it works for some people. ) So, here it is….

Your challenge this week…dig deep. I want to hear about your most profound holiday memory. You know. The one that you will never forget because it moved you that much. Yeah, I know…it’s another “tissue challenge.” lol! But we’ve got to have those every once in a while.

I’ve got my journaling almost planned out in my head. I am pretty sure I have a picture somewhere, I just need to find it. If I can, you girls will get a peek at my 11 year old self. *wink*

A lot can happen in 365 (or in the case of this year 366) days. It’s possible you took thousands of photos this year. If you’re a faithful scrapper, you may have hundreds of new layouts in your album. With all that’s happened, it may not seem possible to capture 2008 in one layout.

But this week we’re taking on that challenge. 2008 in one layout. And just to make things really interesting, how about 2008 in just one word? As you look back on another year gone by, what one word sums it all up? Make that word your title, and use your journaling to fill in the rest of the story.

it’s time to go through your OLD layouts and either add journaling to one that needs it (no redesigning allowed) or do a follow-up page to continue the story (please please show us your old page too).
