Hello fellow journalers! We hope that you all had a wonderful holiday season and new year celebration and are ready to jump back into the challenges with us! We have a new challenge for you this year. Call it “a challenge within a challenge” if you will. Here it goes…
This challenge will be a 12 week challenge. We will give you all 12 challenges up front and you will have 12 weeks to complete them. We will also post one of the challenges each week so that you have a place to post your pages when you are done. At the end of the 12 weeks, if you have done all 12 challenges, we will send you a nice RAK of goodies! We appreciate that sticking with us for 12 weeks is a big commitment and we want to reward you. I hope that you will take the challenge and have some fun with us on this journey. Now for the challenges!!!
1. Challenge Posted on Jan 8: From Heather -
Resolutions/Intentions/Self Improvements for the New Year. Write them down. It
is proven that you are more likely to complete these tasks if you have them
written down. Get them down in one layout, or do it up mini-book style.
2. Challenge Posted on Jan 15: From Steph – Journal about
whatever topic you choose, but you have to put your journaling into strips
instead of a block.
3. Challenge Posted on Jan 22: This challenge is from guest challenger Mary Kay
Seckinger. Journal as a list of instructions. As in, “How to Climb a Tree
According to Johnny” and the topic is up to you!
4. Challenge Posted on Jan 29: From Steph – Journal about scrapbooking (why you do
it, how long you have been doing it, favorite manufacturer’s, etc…)
5. Challenge Posted on Feb. 5: From Heather – Journal about something that makes you
cry. It could be a happy cry or a sad cry, but the journaling should be about
something that moves you to tears.
6. Challenge Posted on Feb. 12: This challenge is from guest challenger Linda Harrison. Journal in three places on your
page. I know it sounds weird at first, but it is something I have wanted to
start doing a little bit…to break up the ONE journaling block that I ALWAYS
do and journal more over the page. For example, you can do three of those
journaling spots and stick them in a line or over the page, can do two hidden
tags of journaling with one summary block exposed, etc.
7. Challenge Posted on Feb. 19: This challenge is from guest challenger Emily Pitts.
Journal by using only a list of verbs. Get out that dictionary and thesaurus!
8. Challenge Posted on Feb. 26: From Steph – Topic is your choice, but you have to
hide your journaling. Be creative and do a page about something you may not
want the world to see. After all, no one will be able to see the words you
write.
9. Challenge Posted on March 5: From Heather – Ok. NOW journal about something that
makes you laugh uncontrollably! Something that makes you burst into giggles and
threatens to make you snort with hysterical laughter. I’m hoping that I can get
through this one myself. heehee!
10. Challenge Posted on March 12: From Steph – Use a favorite song to inspire your
page. It can determine the theme or you can use the lyrics as your journaling.
If possible, try and make the title of your song, the title of your layout.
11. Challenge Posted on March 19: This challenge is from guest challenger Vivian
Masket. Write your journaling as a pro/con list. Anything you want to write
about!
12. Challenge Posted on March 26: From Steph – Use handwriting instead of your
computer to journal. If you are a digi scrapper, then use a handwriting font.
After our last challenge posted on March 26th, we’ll give you all a week to finish up any loose ends. All of your pages must be posted by April 2nd to be eligible for the RAK. Also, please make brand new layouts for our challenge. That is what this challenge is for…to push you, to challenge you to create something new. We don’t mind if you combine this challenge with another challenge, just make sure that the layout you post was inspired by the challenges above.
Thanks again for visiting our challenge blog! We hope to see more of you and your work over the next 12 weeks!
