This week’s challenge comes about because I wanted to scrap an older photo. I was flipping through my packets of pictures and came upon this picture–and a flood of emotion hit. So my challenge to you is this: journal about when you realized something. It can be anything, mine is serious, but you can go funny with this too. Just have fun with it. And remember to link your layout to our comments so we can check them out.

And I just  noticed that I dated the layout incorrectly. It’s really the year 2000. Oops!

Hi, me again. Heather’s on a big old airplane right now, heading to a glorious cruise with her sweet hubby. Hmmm, life’s tough . So you get me this week, next week, and the following week. So you’ve got to play and keep me company. I went to CHA last weekend, thus the day late post. I had a B-L-A-S-T! That is one fun party my friends. I got to meet so many cool people and was a tiny bit starstruck. But enough about me, on to the challenge:

Journal a reason why…

I have been friends with Julie for over 20 years. When I started this layout, it was going to be a different reason–but I started looking through these pictures we had taken at a scrapbook retreat last month. We’d asked Heather to take them because most, if not all of the pictures we have together over the years have me being a bit goofy. It’s just something I do. We wanted some nice and grown up pictures of us. Well, out of the 50 or so that she took, I’m being goofy in at least a third of them. So I decided to journal about that. How she’s been so patient with my silliness over the years. Thanks Julie, you’re the best!

Now show me your layouts about a reason. This is a broad topic, I’m excited to see what everyone comes up with. Don’t forget to comment and post a link to your layout so I can praise. And I’ll try to be back on schedule next week!

This week’s challenge came as a result of my leaving the country. We had house sitters, and I wanted them to know they weren’t breaking anything when they flushed the master bath’s toilet and a horrible moaning noise followed soon after. I then started to think about all the strange little things my house does that I just adapt to and take as a part of daily life. I was reading the list I’d made up and realized it would make a great layout. Thus the challenge for this week:

Create a layout about something quirky in your life. I did mine about my house, using supplies from my Studio Calico http://studiocalico.com/ July kit, see the bling? It’s a new thing for me, but I loved it! Heather went a little more personal and did a layout about herself. We really took this one very different ways but we both got fun layouts out of it. So let’s see what you do with the challenge. And if you end up putting “QUIRKY” in the title, how perfect is that, using up a “q”? Don’t forget to comment and link us to your layout. Alright Journalers…it’s time to get back to basics. We’re talking captions here. Your challenge this week is to use THREE OR MORE pictures *and* caption EACH one. You heard me right. Dig out those birthday pictures and give us a running commentary. Or take a series of pictures and give us the play-by-play like Emily did this week.
