#105: That’s so cliche!

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

You know, if you ask me, cliches get a bad rap. Sure, they’re overused but sometimes truer words were never spoken. My grandma was always a big fan of saying “You can catch more flies with honey than vinegar.” Now, I’ ve never actually wanted to catch flies, but once I figured out what she really meant was a little bit of kindness can go a long way, I decided my grandma was pretty darn smart!

So, this week’s challenge is to find a cliche that’s applies to your life, good or bad. And if your grandma didn’t supply you with enough cliches to get you started here’s a link to help you out, courtesy of Suzy: http://www.clichesite.com/

#104: Oh, grow up!

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

My challenge for you this week is pretty straightforward but still flexible enough that you can take it in more than one direction. Other than straight, I guess. Anyway…

Finish this sentence: “When I grow up, …”

You can do this challenge about your child, yourself as a child, or pretty much anyone you know who was ever a child (and I’m guessing that’s most everyone you know!). You can even do the challenge about the child who still lives in you (because I, for one, know I still have some growing to do).

#103 Inside Your Title

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

This week, the challenge is a journaling technique. You need to journal INSIDE your title. There are many ways to interpret that, this is what we came up with:

Emily:

1092144

And Stephanie’s:

And Suzy’s:

And Heather’s:

and little ducky’s will be here shortly, she’s been reorganizing her scrap room. :)

#102 You do. He did. I will. They will. She did?

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

Our first challenge of the year might remind you of school. We are going to play around with verb tenses and pronouns. Look at the illustration below. Your birth month (January = 1, February = 2, etc) is the green number.

Don’t fret! If yours is too hard or not inspiring, just choose another one. I won’t tattle to your English teacher!

I (little-ducky) was born in March, so I get #3: Third Person, Past Tense. Here’s my layout with my chronically crooked handwriting.

I asked Stephanie Howell to design a page for this challenge. She got #8: You in the Future
