text lingo to english translation: what are you going to write about this week?

this week’s challenge is e-communication. emails, IMs, txt msgs, tweets, message boards, chat rooms, irc channels, etc.

dig through your directories and hard drives, logs and screenshots, saved emails and logged IMs, and find your journaling material there.

you know what I mean. that IM from you-know-who that you saved. the email to so-and-so that you worked so hard on. the funny FWD joke you got from that one girl.

if you’re the type to DELETE everything right away (why do you do that? didn’t you know you’d be needing it later?), then write ABOUT your e-communications.

hrry! I cnt w8 2C wotU cre8!

I scrapped an email to my son

#85: Never Have I Ever…

Sure, you know who you are. But do you know who you are *not*? This week your challenge is to explore the things you don’t do that make you who you really are. Confused? That’s where the prompt “Never Have I Ever…” comes in. Try using it to make a list of all your nevers. Then see which ones inspire you to create a layout!

Here’s some inspiration from the girls…

#84 Take two.

For some US Peas, summer is still in full swing (unless you live here in the Northeast, where it’s been soggy for the past two weeks!) and for others, school has started again. Needless to say, Peas around the world are always busy.

This week I’ve got an easy challenge for you so you have one less thing on your to do list. The challenge is to journal in 2 different ways. Handwritten and typed, strips and blocks, rub-ons and stickers – choose any combination you like!

It can also be about the content if you like. Quote a conversation that you overheard at home this week and then describe why it’s funny or sad or just plain important. Write a list and then explain its contents. Include the lyrics from your favorite song and then write about their significance. The possibilities are limited only by your imagination!

Here’s mine:

#83 – it’s 50/50

sometimes you have only half the information. that’s what this challenge is about.
you could write about how you don’t know what the future will hold. or you could take the he said/she said approach and have two people tell the same story from their point of view.

it’s pretty open.
